London Art Fest Ready

Collectors who are heading for the Frieze Art Fair, including Eli Broad and Charles Saatchi, are being targeted by auction houses that have assembled $147 million of art and plan three splashy parties to compete with the event. Christie's International will entice the London art fair's expected 41,000 visitors with $76 million of artists from China's Zhang Xiaogang to California's Jason Rhoades. Sotheby's four art auctions have a $55 million top estimate. Frieze, which runs from Oct. 12-15 in Regent's Park, is in its fourth year and had 2005 sales of $56.7 million. It ranked among the top three or four European 20th-century art fests, after Switzerland's Art Basel and Art Cologne. For the full story - click the title Irish Art
